About

Guide Panto – The Story So Far

Guide Panto began in 2002 when Amy and Ruth created the script for Frying Pan and the Superheros of Bristol. They asked 1st Bristol Guides if they would like to take part, and the magic was born.

Over the following years, Amy was assisted by a number of Rangers, and when Amy left Bristol to attend university, the Rangers took over the running of the panto.

In 2011, Amy returned, with Peter Pan. Since then, Amy has been supported by a team of volunteers (many of them Family, Friends or fellow Guiders!). The pantomime has grown from strength to strength and now owns a large array of costumes and technical equipment. In 2016 Guide Panto raised over £1100 for charity.  Amy is now assisted by the incredible Rhian Jones.

Each year the panto raises money for up to two charities, and gives between 20-30 girls the opportunity to take to the stage. The storylines have moved on from the traditional “fairy tale” pantos, and Amy now writes a new pantomime script each year, making the Guide Panto a truly unique experience.
